Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Chordal is developed by IndieBits LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what Chordal does and doesn't do with your information. In short: Chordal has no servers of its own, collects no analytics, and shows no ads.

What Chordal stores

Chordal saves your practice data so the app can teach you and track your progress. This includes:

Where your data lives

Your practice data is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your private iCloud database via Apple's CloudKit. This lets your progress sync across your own Apple devices.

We do not operate any servers, and your practice data is never sent to us or to any third party. Data stored in your private iCloud database is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and Apple's Privacy Policy. Only you, through your Apple ID, can access it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, your data simply stays on your device.

What we do not collect

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no local storage, session storage, or browser fingerprinting. It has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. The Cloudflare Pages platform that hosts the site may set a short-lived __cf_bm bot-management cookie to protect against automated abuse. This is a strictly necessary cookie under ePrivacy and GDPR and does not require consent.

Purchases

Chordal offers an optional one-time in-app purchase, Chordal Pro. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple may share aggregate, non-identifying sales data with us. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchase data.

Children's privacy

Chordal does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your privacy rights (EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. Because Chordal has no servers and does not collect or receive your personal data, we do not hold any personal information about you. Your practice data stays on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database that only you can access through your Apple ID.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this URL.
