Requirements
macOS 14.6 or later. Practice alternative layouts like Dvorak and Colemak on the keyboard you already have, or connect a Twiddler or other chorded keyboard.
Common questions
Do I need a special keyboard?
No. Chordal teaches alternative layouts like Dvorak, Colemak, and Workman right on the keyboard you already have. It's also built for chorded keyboards like the Twiddler 3 and Twiddler 4, and for those you'll get the most out of it typing on the real device.
Can I use my own layout?
Yes. Common physical layouts are built in, and for a Twiddler you can import your .cfg from the Twiddler Tuner. Chordal then matches every lesson, the on-screen diagram, and your stats to your actual layout. Chordal Pro lets you keep a full library of layouts and switch between them instantly.
Where is my practice data stored?
On your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, it also syncs to your private iCloud database so your progress follows you across your own Apple devices. We never receive your data. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
What does Chordal Pro include?
Pro is a single optional in-app purchase, not a subscription. It adds Smart Practice, Speed and Endurance topics, Macro Practice & Lessons, deeper analytics, a full profile library, and custom goals. The core curriculum, Weak Glyphs, Key Mastery, and unlimited history stay free.
How do refunds work?
All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Refunds are requested through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is there an iPhone or iPad version?
Chordal is on macOS first. iOS and iPadOS versions are in the works. Drop us a note and we'll let you know when they land.
